Outcome VI – Control sentence-level error (grammar, punctuation, spelling)
With this outcome I feel I have exemplified it’s contents in my work throughout the course of this semester. I think that my main problem with sentence-level errors was simply the use of words that did not fit the context well. When I am writing, I tend to try and write each sentence with as much grace as possible, and some words I find just satisfy my own desire for eloquent writing that I overlook the fact that they may not be the best fit. In receiving feedback many times on this issue, when I am writing now I am constantly rereading my sentences to make sure they make with the proper words. My significant project makes a lot more sense word-wise than my literacy narrative.
In my writing classes throughout the years I have never struggled much with grammar or spelling, so in that regard I don’t find that much has changed for the worse or better. I find that my sentence construction has changed to a point where I am now better at tying things together between sentences and creating a more logical flow to my words. From my first piece to my significant project, it is evident that this has improved (Still not perfect), but I find that my sentences just have an all-around smoother flow.
